Insert Line Break?

How do I insert a line break in Excel 2008? All of the forums I have read and google all tell me to control+option+return, but that doesn't work, and I've tried other combos as well. Is there a way to manually do it, such as clicking on the insert tab and then finding it, or is there any other way to enter it? Thanks for the help!

Sorry if this is too basic, but let's start with the obvious.

You are editing the cell (the cursor flashes in the cell or on the formula
bar) when you try to insert a line break, aren't you?

If you come from the Windows world, notice that the Control key on the Mac
is the leftmost (and on some keyboards also the rightmost) one on the bottom
row, not the ones closest to the space bar. So for Control+Option you'd use
the two leftmost keys (or the two rightmost) on the bottom row.

Wow, my computer was being dumb. I shut it down while I went to work yesterday and came back last night, turned the Mac back on, and tried the Control+Option+Return again, and it worked great! Sorry for the dead end post... I apologize. Thanks for the help though!
