Insert object .pdf

When i try to insert a PDF file as an object using "create
from file" the file appears as an icon, not the original
document as intented.

Is this a problem with Visio 2002 prof?

Visio doesn't understand PDF format--so it is relying on the software you
have installed that registered itself for PDF format.

I suspect that you only have the Reader installed? I don't beleive the
Reader supports Object Linking and Embedding (that's what's happening
during Insert Object, Create from File). I am not sure if any Abobe PDF
product supports OLE--check their website.

Visio asked the application that registered for PDF to display a view, but
got the icon instead.

I am using the full version of Adobe 5.0
The help file for the program states that it is OLE
compliant and has instructions which follow the normal
method of inserting OLE files.
