Insert picture – Adobe Illustrator file

I have an image with an .ai extension and want to insert it into a Word
document. However, Word does not seem to recognise it as an image file.
When I attempt to insert it it brings up the Convert File window. I have
tried the options in the Window that are installed but none of them work.

Can anyone help here?

Word cannot import native .ai files. If the filters are installed, you can
import EPS, and, on a Mac, you can import PDF.

Adobe has tended to blurr the distinction between AI, PDF, and EPS formats,
so you may be able to just change the extension and sort of "fake" it.

Thank you Tim
