Insert Pictures in Office 2007

Recently I bought Office Proffesional 2007 and I tried to use it and insert a
picture. The program would not let me do this simple application from any
office product. If anyone has had this problem and found a fix, please let

What happens if you hold the control key when you start Word 2007 then use Insert=>Picture from the Ribbon?

Define "the program would not let me do this".

I try to insert a picture and it closes, asks to send a message to Microsoft
and then restarts with where I was at. I try again and the same thing
happens. I get this same pattern with all office programs.

The same thing happens. I tried it in safe mode by holding the control key
and then went to insert picture, I get to the screen to choose where to
insert picture from and the program (PowerPoint this time) shuts down, asks
to send a message describing my problem and then restarts PPT.

Have you tried "Detect and Repair"?
