insert signature buttom is missing

Damian

I need help to select a signature to install.

There used to be a button I could select in the email editor or word when
emailing the page, but now there is no buttom.

I can't even select the button in the customize section of the toolbars.

Is there something that has happened or I've pushed and does anyone know how
to correct it?

Thanks

What version of Outlook are you using? Are you using Word as the editor?

I'm using Office 2003, and I've always used Word as my email editor. I
rebuilt the harddrive (installed a new one and started again). SInce
re-installing it I've not had the option I had of inserting the various
signatures I want.

You will need to create the signatures using the native Outlook editor.
Then, assign an account to your signature in the Mail Format tab. To use
the Insert->Signature option, you must be using Outlook's editor. If you
set up your default signature for your account in Outlook and switch to
using Word as your editor, the default signature will be automatically
placed in your new message. If you have several signatures (as do I) you
can easily switch them by right clicking on the signature and select a new
one from the list displayed.

Milly,

I've have a related issue that I'm hoping you can shed some light on.

I've recently gotten a new computer and a fresh install of Office 2003.

In my previous computer and version of Office 2003, my reply email windows
offered an option/icon next to Insert icon in the formatting bar labeled
signatures.

This icon/option is not available in my newer version of Office/Outlook 2003.

I used multiple signatures in my emails for quickly adding repetitive and
frequently requested info. Rather than replacing a signature (one for the
other) I need access to adding a "signature" to any place in my email where
the info is needed. The Office/Outlook help file offered this which did not
work for me (was not an available option!) in my current version:

"Using Microsoft Outlook as your e-mail editor

In the open message, click where you want to insert the signature in the
message body.
On the Insert menu, point to Signature, and then click the signature that
you want.
If the signature that you want is not listed, click More, and in the
Signature box, select the signature that you want to use"

In my current Insert menu (new computer/Outlook), Signatures is not a drop
down option regardless of my attempts to add it as one.

In my previous version of Outlook 2003 (on my previous computer), Insert
didn't offer any drop down menu - instead, insert opens to an "Insert File"
Browser window. However, next to insert (in the formatting toolbar of repliy
to emails) was a Signatures icon that allowed me to insert any of my
signatures in any quantity and order/sequence throughout the email.

I am amazed at how often I used and added new signatures for repetitious
inquiries and would really appreciate your help in restoring this feature in
my current version of Outlook.

Thanks for your time.

PS - hope this isn't a thread hijack but it seemed related.

Scratch this - it is not working as it did in my precios version.

I guess I was working with an old message whose formatting hadn't been
reverted when I had "use Wordmail as editor for rich text messages" checked.
When unchecked and the mail was newly replied to, my signatues insert
function was restored, both in the insert drop down menu AND the icon
restored in the formatting toolbar.

Sorry for the long winded request to problem self solved. I knew as soon as
I posted I would figure it out! ;]
