Insert Symbol (boxes) convert to arrows

A word document created with boxes inserted, using the
insert symbol are converted to arrows when viewed by other
people on different computers. Any ideas?

Hi Poh,

Probably the font you have been using isn't installed on the other people's
machine.

In that case, some other symbol font is substituted.

Don't know how your boxes are supposed to look; perhaps you can use U+25A0
(filled box) or U+25A1 (empty box) from Arial or Times New Roman to avoid
the problem.
