Insert Vector Graphics Word 2008 - Open in Word 2007 PC - Make PDF

Hi,
We've gone round & round on this issue in a recent project, but thought it might be worth one more question as we have unique requirements.

And this also kind of follows up on an earlier thread: <http://www.officeformac.com/ms/ProductForums/Word/6698/0>

- We need to know what options we have that will allow a vector image (logo usually) to be placed in Word 2008 Mac, be converted to Word 2007 PC, and ultimately be exported as a PDF to be downloaded & printed by an unknown user/system/printer.

We just need to know the best way to have the graphic hold up and print nicely in the end (from the PDF). My first guess would be to use EPS or PDF, but will those transfer OK to the PC version, and convert properly in the PDF?

THANKS! This issue is WAY more complicated than it needs to be.

Well, if it helps, in internal testing these are the initial results trying
PDF as a importable format:

WORD 2008
- PDF element (logo) placed in Word 2008 prints correctly to both PS and
non-PS printers.
- When this file is saved as a PDF, the logo is still truly vector and prints
fine to both PS and non-PS printers.

WORD 2007
- When opening the docx file created in Word 2008, the PDF logo is rasterized
on screen, and prints as such to both printers. It's decent resolution, but
no where near as sharp as vector.
- When saving Word 2007 file as PDF, same results: PDF logo is rasterized and
prints as such.
- When inserting the PDF element directly into Word 2007 (using Insert
Object/Create from File), the preview and resulting printouts are VERY
chunky, obviously low-res.

EPS
- When inserting an EPS file into Word 2007, file looks 'OK' on screen, but
prints nicely to both PS and non-PS printers here. It does, however, slightly
cut-off the bottom edge, and produces a very faint outline.
- When saved as PDF, the faint outline is gone, but it still cut-off a bit on
the bottom.
* * We do have a Postscript printer driver installed on this PC, so not sure
if that is allowing it to work properly.

I'd take EPS over PDF, but only because Word does not really handle PDF. The
EPS cut-off and the outline may have been a bad graphic, because that really
shouldn't happen.
