Inserted Pictures have dotted background when printed

Help. I inserted a Jpeg or pdf version of my logo into my letterhead. Looks great on screen with white background. Then I print it out on there appears to be a gray-ish dotted background to the picture that wasn't there on screen. How do I get rid of it?

Have you checked for an update to your printer driver since upgrading to
Leopard? That's the first thing I'd look into. Also, confirm al of your
printer settings including quality levels, etc.

Yep. No good. They're going to send someone out to do a service call on the printer. I thought it was something I could get done with some sort of setting.

I would have to look at the picture to be absolutely sure, but if the
background is "very light gray" instead of "white" that would be the effect
you would get.

So the other thing you may want to check is that the background of the
picture is actually 255 255 255 (peak white in RGB). If the colour model of
the picture is not RGB, it will be converted to that during the printing
process. If the background colour is something other than white, this can
happen.
