Inserting a picture on it's own page inside a long Word document?

Hello,
I have a long Word 2002 document (a thesis) and I'd like to insert pictures
and their captions on their own pages. Furthermore, I'd like to put them on
a page close to where I reference them; maybe I can use some sort of "anchor"
to do this? For example, if I reference Figure 1 on page 10, then Figure 1
should appear on page 11, and text should flow to the bottom of page 10 and
pick up again on the top of page 12. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is *no* way to do this in Word. Because text can only flow freely
around wrapped objects, and because wrapped objects must be anchored to an
inline paragraph on the same page, there is no way to put a wrapped object
on a page by itself.
