Inserting a signature

My company just moved to Microsoft Exchange Server using Outlook 2003
(11.6359.6360). My department is the first group to migrate to Outlook
and we have a question regarding signatures.

We have created a signature and some of us have chosen to have our
signatures automatically added to outgoing messages. This works fine.
Others, however, wish to manually insert a signature into a message.
While in Compose mode, there is no command to insert a signature.

Does our administrator need to configure something in Exchange Server
to allow a signature to be manually inserted? I know this command is
available in my stand-alone version of Outlook 2002 on my home
conputer.

Thanks in advance.

Are the users who are having this issue using Word as their editor?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, [email protected] asked:

Yes, Word 2003 was set up as the default choice as the editor. When we
unselected Word, the Signature command appeared. Thanks!

Yup. Word as a mail editor doesn't have a signature function. You have to
set signatures up as AutoText.

Or, create multiple signatures the normal way (Tools | Options | Mail
Format) and make one the default. If you want to use a different signature
for the current message, right-click the signature that Outlook inserted
automatically. From the pop-up menu, select either the name of the signature
you want to use or E-mail Signature to create a new one. I personally prefer
this technique. This is also the technique you need to use if you want
Outlook 2003 to automatically change your signature when you switch accounts
on an unsent message.

This would be a good way to always pick the sig, too. Just make the default
signature one that contains only a space.
