Inserting a time counter on slide

Does anyone know of a way to insert a counter on a slide? For example: I
tell my class that they have 7 minutes to discuss a topic. I advance to the
next animation and a counter comes up that displays 7:00 and begins ticking
backwards. Is there anything like this available for PPT 97? Thanks, Jay

However, I know some of the solutions listed there require PowerPoint
versions higher than 97.
