Inserting a Time Scale

Hello,
My new boss loves the new MS Project Gantt chart I presented. However, he
would like to see the timescale at the top of the page inserted in the chart
in two spots, above summary tasks. Is this possible?

Michael,
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "two spots, above the summary
tasks", but Project only has one timescale, although there are up to
three tiers (e.g. Year, month, week). Project doesn't have an extensive
amount of graphics capability. If you need custom presentations, you
will need to export Project's data to another application and create the
view there.

Thank you for your speedy response. Based on your answer I think you
understood my question correctly. It sounds like there is no way to
duplicate the timescale in a Gantt Chart. Just to clarify, for my own
edification, I am printing a master schedule on a 24"x 36" sheet. I was
asked to copy the timescale that runs accross the top of the page and insert
it elsewhere on the page, in the chart itself so as to make the chart more
readable. Instead, I will make the middle tier colum lines black and solid.

You're welcome. Now that I understand better what you want, you might
want to consider displaying the Start and/or Finish date next to each
Gantt bar. To do that, go to Format/Bar Styles and click the "text" tab
at the bottom of the Bar Styles window. Insert whatever field you want
in or around the bar.

Thanks John. Making -bold- the column lines did the trick. People can
follow the lines down to pertinent tasks. I'll offer up the start and finish
dates to the left and right of the bars too.
