Inserting an AVI fille

I am trying to insert an AVI file into a Powerpoint
presentation. When I double click on the image to begin
playing, the image is replaced by a solid green box.
After a few seconds (equal to the length of the AVI
file), the green box is replaced by the image again. Any
ideas?

On its own, the AVI file can be viewed without difficult
when using Quicktime or Windows Media Player.

What happens when you play the presentation in Slide Show mode? Just double
clicking on it might not be a good test. However, if you get the same results
there are a few things to try. Make sure that your video driver is up to date.
Also make certain that you have the latest version of DirectX installed. Go to
Start > Run and type dxdiag and press OK. The displayed window will show the
version
of DirectX at the bottom on the list on the System tab. You will also be able o
explore the other tabs to see the driver version for your video card, for
eample. Also adjust your hardware acceleration. These links should help:
