inserting and saving pictures to webpage

After inserting pictures into my webpage, and saving that page, my pictures
do not show up when I go to my webpage. What am I doing wrong? I am brand new
at this, so please make answers simple. Thanks for all help.

Did you publish the pictures to your web? They are not "embedded" in the page.

Make sure you have imported or copied and pasted your images into the
images folder inside your web.
Then link to them there.

If they are located somewhere else on your hard drive, the links won't
work.

Make sure the images are in the folder that you mentioned when yo
inserted them.

To make it simplier, create a folder for your main page (for exampl
c:\site), and then create another folder for all the images (fo
example c:\site\images) and place all the images you're going to use i
your page in that folder.

If you need more help just ask

Thanks so much for your response. I'm sorry to be such a bother on this, but
could you explain how I imported or copy and past the images.....what screens
do I open to do this. I know how to copy and paste, but I don't know what
windows to open to get the pictures where I need them.
Thanks again.

I did publish them to the page, if you mean transferring the saved page over
to Smart FTP. How do I embed them?

With your web open in FrontPage, and set to folder view, open the images
folder.

Then using Windows Explorer, browse to the folder that contains the
images you want to use.
right click an image, select copy, then switch to the images folder in
your web, right click and select Paste.

Or, in FrontPage, click File > Import and browse to the images and
select them to import.

Think of the folder that contains your web on your computer as a
"container."
Everything that you want to use in your web or publish to the server
"Must" live inside that container.

It's also time to explore the HELP files, possibly purchase a book. We can't
walk you thru all the very most basic stuff.

But you did not publish the pictures. Pictures do not get embedded in pages. FTP the
pictures to your server, just like you did with your pages. It's a good idea to make a
folder for them. Name it images.
Then, set the hyperlink to the pictures.

However if you click on the 1st folder in the tree, normally the full name
of your website, right click, select new/ then "folder" and name this folder
"images"
You will then have a folder to import your images into.

The image folder is automatically created when you create a new
web...shouldn't have to manually add one...unless topkat2u didn't create a
web/site to begin with.
