Inserting existing projects in one over-arching project

Hi, I have inserted 11 smaller projects into one overarching project plan,
however when I email this (overarching project plan) to my colleauges, they
can only see the headings and not the details, tasks etc.
Is there a specific way i should sav this file or any format I can use so
that all the information is visible to everyone?

Many thanks

Hi,

I suppose you created this Master Plan by Inserting the detaoil projects.
Indeed, in such a construction, this master plan only contains a link to the
detail files and not the tasks themselves.

Youc an do one of several things.

Start again, but when inserting each project, UNCHECK "Link to Project"
Mind you, this master will allow you to send all the information BUT it will
no longer automatically update when the detail projcts change;

Or, before sending the master, double-click on each of the Project lines and
uncheck "Link to Project"
Save the resulting file under a different name and send.
This way you keep your dynamic master; still, next time you send you have to
redo the unlinking.

And/Or, you can automate that in a VBA procedure;

Or finally, you can send the master AND the subprojects in one folder.

Hope this helps,

When I insert project links into a master project, the link contains the
entire paths (we are on a global network, so the path gets lengthy). When I
email the master and sub-projects to someone, their copy of the master
project cannot find the sub-projects because it is looking for the entire
path of the originals. Is there a way to remove the path in the links and
have the master project look for the sub-projects only in the same directory
as the master?
