Inserting File Brings up Mail Menu

I am trying to insert an HTML file into a word doc. When I say "insert
file" on the menu, it brings up the send mail header. It sort of seems like
some commands are cross-linked in Word. How can I restore these back to
defaults?

The only thing I did was try and define a macro.

A little more info: It seems that whenever I try and define a macro, that
macro causes the mail address panel to appear. Help!!!!!
