Inserting images in PP

P

Using PP2002. Have never had the following problem before.

When I insert (by dragging file from Explorer) a JPG file into an open
frame in PowerPoint the colours all go crazy. Sometimes the image
appears in gray scale, some in wild colours, sometimes the image is OK
but the thumbnail is crazy, sometimes the opposite.

Help needed. Many thanks. DaveC

What happens if you don't drag and drop

but do this instead

insert menu > picture > from file?

cheers

The same thing happens. I suspect my installation is corrupt somehow.
I have been having problems with it lately.

Should I uninstall my 2002 version before installing 2003?

Thanks, DaveC

Steve, I think you hit the jackpot. I reset the video display to 32
bit and the problem seems to have disappeared. By the way the JPGs
were not that large and the strange colour activity was just plain
wierd.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated. Now back to my slide show
presentation.

Just to close off this posting;

The solution was only temporary. The wild colors began to happen again
and the display was still 32 bit.

I tried the actual presentation on another computer and it worked
perfectly.

So I deleted the whole Office shebang and installed a new 2003
version. I think there were corruption problems of some kind. I don't
know enough to know!

Thanks, DaveC
