Inserting images with links

J

João Correia

Hi,
I'd like to know if it's possible to insert an image in a
document, only with the link to that image (something
like c:\my_documents\images\image.jpg) so I could store
all the images of a document in one folder, not in the
document. This will keep my document "shorter" speaking
in Kb, I guess...

Please, tell if there's any way to do this.

thanks,

João

Hi João,

In Word 2000 or higher you can use
Insert=>Picture=>From File and when
you select the graphic pick the down arrow on
the [Insert|v] button to choose 'link only'
as one choice.

Remember that if you plan to send the document
to someone else they would also need a way to
have that document link to that location for
the graphics to be accessible in that scenario.
