Inserting large picture files in reports problem

I have a client where being able to output photographs of their
products is important. Their photos, like most nowadays, are around
4-5mb in size and are in .jpg format.

They have a choice of printing one, two, four or nine photos on a one
page report - the more the better as far as their needs are
concerned. I use an image control and the path to each photo is held
in a text field. We are using Access 2010.

What I'm finding is that once we reach around 15mb of photos on one
page the report starts to leave out images. So, four photos of 4mb+
will result in only 3 previewing and printing.

I've tried moving the code to fetch the photos from the on format
event to on print, that doesn't seem to make any difference. I've
forced the code to run only if the PrintCount=1 - I do get some
improvement, but still missing photos. I tried using Stephen Leban's
code to create bitmaps for the photos and using them instead -
generally get no photos at all (the bitmap file is about 35mb).

Is there a solution to this problem somewhere? Is there any code to
resize a picture file before it is used? This surely must be becoming
an issue for Microsoft as camera resolution increases.

Any help much appreciated.
