Inserting Page Numbers

When inserting page numbers to a Word document, they show
on the monitor in gray but do not print on document when
printed.

There are two issues involved here.
1. They grey effect is because the page numbers are in the footer view and
thus are displayed grey.
2. They don't print because they are in the unprintable area of your
printer - see http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Formatting/BottomsDontPrint.htm
