Inserting Scanned Items

Mike

Does anyone know the most efficiant format to use to
insert a scanned item in Publisher ?
I've tried scanning the item as a bmp, jpg, pdf, tif,
others, but the image is always blurry.
I love the lack of help, or tutorial. :-(

Thanks, Mike

Use PNG (JPG is lossy, TIF is large, BMP is larger, and PDF isn't supported
by Publisher), and check the settings in View > Picture Display
Make sure you are scanning into a graphics program and then saving, and
importing into Publisher via Insert > Picture > From File.
Make sure that you have a high enough resolution on your scanner - most
people recommend 150DPI for desktop printing and 300DPI for commercial
print, unless you're going to be enlarging the images at all.

You are far better scanning the pictures outside of Publisher using the
scanning software that came with your scanner. Always scan to the correct
finished size you require, and refrain from stretching or shrinking the
handles in Publisher.

Also go to www.scantips.com where there is great info.
