Is there any way when inserting subprojects into the master schedule, that
the number sequence can be consectutive? Or is each subproject inserted
starts from 1?

You can't use the ID field for showing consequtive numbering. Each
subproject will start at ID 1. Each external link will also be considered a
row as well and would be numbered.

Here's what I do...

1. Prepare your master and subprojects as needed (tasks, dependancies
including external links).
2. Insert another field into the schedule such as Number10.
3. Go to Excel and create a sequential numbered range (1 to n).
4. Copy the range.
5. Return to Project and paste the range into the first Number10 cell.

Now all your rows are sequentially numbered. If you add or remove rows from
your schedule the Number10 field will no longer be sequential. You'll have
to the steps above again to fix it.

In order to get the new field to show as the first item you will need to
update the table view. To do that you have to:

1. Go to View-->Table:Entry-->More Tables
2. Edit whichever table you want to show the new field
3. Move the Number10 field to the first row location.

You'll have to do that activity for every table your user may want to look
at.

Hope this helps.
