Inserting the same graphic on multiple pages

I have a document that is 1063 pages long and I'd like to insert a image
(jpg) in the same position on every page (not in the header though). Is there
a way to do this automatically or do I have to paste the image on all pages
manually?

To repeat the image on every page, it must be anchored in the header (or
footer), but that doesn't mean it has to be in the header area. See
