Hm, that's weird. Thanks for clarifying, though. I thought maybe you were
using an add-in or something.
Anyway, sometimes when the applications crash and restart, you get a dialog
box prompting you to send info to Microsoft. There's often a link for more
information or something that will give us a clue what is happening.
Anything there along those lines?
What antivirus product are you using? Some, especially Norton Antivirus,
have plug-ins that cause problems with Office -- disabling the plug-in will
often resolve the problem.
Also I'd check to make sure you don't have anything odd in the My Pictures
folder. (Maybe a huge huge file, or maybe an obscure picture format or
something.) That shouldn't cause problems, but I've seen stranger.
Also try Office Button | Word Options | Resources | Diagnose, and run those
diagnostics.

Sorry Echo,
it is a simple dialog box. But it never finishes opening. By that time we
have the program shuting down and restarting

It seems that every time I use the insert picture wizard in office 07
the
program crashes. Doesn't matter if it's word, pub, they all lock up and
require a restart of the program
Could you clarify what you're doing to insert the picture? I'm not aware
of
a wizard to insert pictures. When you click Insert | Picture, it should
just
open an Insert Picture dialog box that, by default, shows the contents of
the My Pictures folder (on WinXP, anyway -- might be a little different
on
Vista, I don't know).
