Install Addins from CD

B

Brad

Thanks for taking the time to read my question.

I am having problems installing the addins from the Office Professional 2003
edition.

How do I install them?

I've gone to Add/Remove Programs, selected Microsoft Office, Change. Then
from there I can't find where to add the addins.

Any help would be appriciated.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no Access add-ins on the Office 2003
CD. Where you looking for something in particular?

Well I posted earlier asking how addins work for 2003. In 97 I have addins
like Linked Table Manager, Database Splitter, Switchboard Manager etc.

In 2003 I have no addins, and can't seem to find any.

I was told that I can install them from the Office 2003 Pro CD (Which I have)

Do you know how addins work for 2003?

Those features are still there, Brad, but they aren't add-ins anymore.
You'll find them on the Tools, Database Utilities menu.

Well, there are third party add-ins, and there's one from Microsoft included
in the ADE (Access Developer Extensions). So they're still used to add on
additional functionality. I would guess that Microsoft just decided that the
old add-ins should be integrated as core features of the program rather than
being treated as add-ins, but that's just my guess, I've never seen any
official explanation as to why they were moved.

Thanks for filling me in Brendan,

I'm at home now and checked the Tools - Database Utilities menu and
everything was there.
