Install Junk Email Filter update fails

I have been unable to install the update KB951476. I first tried to use the
automatic update function--to no avail, and then downloaded the file
office2003-KB951476-FullFile-ENU.exe and tried to install from that. No
success. Any suggestions--short of re-installing Windows XP Pro? This is
the sixth time I've had difficulty with the Junk Email Filter file update.
However, up till now I've been able to at least install the update manually.

What gives?

I have an update shield on the “Turnoff Computer†button. When I turnoff the
Computer, it appears that the update is being installed as I get a message
not to shutdown until the installation is complete. After a short period the
computer turns off automatically. I checked the management console. It show
and error saying, “Installation Failed – Outlook 2003 junk email filter
(KB951476).

How do I remove this update, which appears to have been corrupted?
