Install Office 2000 on XP

It means you have an upgrade version of Office, and it wont install because
it cannot find an upgrade qualifying application on your pc. Though if you
have a qualifying application cd it is not neccessary to install it, simply
pop cd in, and in the office install point it to it, as the qualifying app.
Assuming you have previously installed with the upgrade cd, you must
therefore have had a QApp. I might add that the QApp is part of the Office
upgrade cd licence.
Some examples of a QApp being MS Works (Earlier versions) Office97, Smart
Suite, Paradox etc - any QApp most be of an earlier vintage than Office2K -
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;131258 will give you
a clue, this refers to Office95, I dont have url for Office2K, but I'm sure
someone will supply it

I have the same problem. Please elaborate on what is meant by "qualifying
app cd." The exact err. msg is: "Setup failed to locate a valid qualifying
product on your machine. Please select the drive where a qualifying product
can be found." Tkx for help
