install office 97 on a new computer

1) To reinstall Office 97 Professional Edition Upgrade on a new computer,
can I simply follow the original installation procedures, or do I need to
uninstall on my old PC and somehow cancel my original registration first? If
I need to cancel the original; How?

2) Will Office 97 run on Windows XP?

Generally you can install it in the normal way. However, if you have XP
SP2 installed then you are likley to have problems but this can be
resolved later.

Also, for an upgrade version of Office, you will need a qualifying
product and I guess you have one such as old Office 95 or MS Works pre
version 6.
