Sorry, I am just sooooo incredibly frustrated by this it's not even funny. The install tests to test machines worked perfect, the install to a small department as a first production install test went fine. From that test I found a few files pdfmaker files in the office directory that caused an error entering word, I found deleting these files fixed the problem (part of Acrobat 5) without any adverse effects so I updated the MST to add a batch file to run to delete these files in the future - somehow now install on demand is enabled and making my life a living hell (we have several apps that people open with a custom shortcut to access specifically, that shortcut errors out because of install on demand with "Access isn't installed", so I'm having to go around and start access for everyone, unfortunately telling them to just start access before entering that app isn't working). So then I go through the MST again trying to find out why it's doing this, I checked disable install on demand for entire branch on the main install after reading the incredibly vague information on it that suggested this would do the trick but only spoke of it in the context of what the user could/could not do - all this did was forced not only the main apps to install on demand, but even such things as freakin spell check in word or the language settings toolbar (which I disabled and locked in the MST, it came up anyway, then installs when I try to go into settings to kill it).
What is up with this admin/MST install of Office 2003? I've never had a previous office deployment go so incredibly wrong. I LITERALLY would have spent less time on this going around and installing it manually on every machine as a result (and now we have the jackasses of the office asking when they'll get an IT guy to help them out suggesting they don't have one now - THANKS MS!!!).
If anyone in the office dev team reads this - Install on demand is stupid and pointless - If we're installing Office OBVIOUSLY WE DEMAND IT! Quit trying to be cute!

I may as well have gone around to every machine in the company and installed office 2003 manually - oh wait, I DID! I HAD TO!
How do you disable that enormous pile of garbage? I *tried* selecting disable install on demand in the MST however all this did was forced install on demand on EVERYTHING including the damned language settings tool which I HAD DISABLED in the install!
For the love of god how can you get a good old COMPLETE office install via MST in Office 2003?
