My laptop computer has been configured for my school's network domain. When
logged into the school network, if I try to open Microsoft Office files, I
receive a prompt to insert the Microsoft Office CD so that the file
SKU111.CAB can be installed. I get this message when opening power point
files, but if I cancel the prompt, the power point file will open. If on the
other hand, I cancel the prompt and try to open a Word document, it will not
open.
If I log into my LOCAL account, all Microsoft Office files will open with no
problems. I installed my own personal copy of Microsoft Office 2003
professional before my laptop was configured for a network. This was due to
the fact that I had install XP Professional and in order to do so, I ended
up having to reformat the drive.
Why is it that Office files will open on my local account with no problems
and no install prompt, but when logged in on the school network, I
experience problems. What can be done to resolve this issue?
