installation cd not working

I've been searching up and down the internet to find out how to do this. I
currently have windows XP on my PC. I wish to add office 2007 with it. I
bought the microsoft office home and student 2007 suite. When I put the CD in
to install the newer version I only get: "The specified program requires a
newer version of windows," and nothing else happens. What do I need to do to
install and run the second version of office?

Thanks for the information. I Install Service Pack 2 for Windows XP twice,
but I'm still running into a problem. Now it gives me this message when i try
to install office 2007:

"Set up cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or not
available. Rn set up again from the original source disc or download
location.

Any suggestions?
