Installation of Office XP

I just purchased a new computer and started to install my
copy of Office XP For Students and Teachers. It asks for
the product ID number and I had pulled it off the old
computer but it refuses to accept the 20-digit number
because it keeps asking for a 25-digit number. It is
unlikely that I still have the box with the 25-digit
number because I have moved since I installed it on my
old computer. Is there any way to extract the 25-digit
number from the loaded software on the other computer?
Thanks for you help! JC

That's because you're trying to install it using the Product ID, /not/ the
installation key. They are /not/ one and the same - the installation key is
alpha-numeric.

You can use Aida32 (Enterprise Edition - available from www.aida32.hu) to
locate the product key. Please note that Office XP STE may be installed on
*ONE* system at a time - when you've extracted the installation key, you are
obliged to remove it from the old system.

Yes, AIDA, Belarc and several other software products can tell you the
product key for Windows, Office and many other products if they are
properly installed and working on a computer. AIDA is a free download
programs, do a net search and you should be able to find a source from
which you can download it. Not sure if Belarc is free or not.
