Installation of outlook client

I am installing outlook client on a laptop running xp sp1a.
When supplied username/ password, I get error
message "Your logon credential are not correct"
Although I am able to install on a desktop running W2K Pro
SP3 with the same username/ password

When do you get prompted tosupply your credentials and what version of
Outlook are we talking about here?
