installation package problem

Hi all,

I have just tried to update office 2003 on win xp pro and I receive a
message that says that the installation package could not be opened. What do
I do? I have tried to download all installation packages from the MS update
site but to no avail. I cannot even run a clean install from my office CD.
What is this package and where do I get it from?

My system has never had this problem before

just tried to run the installer cleanup utility and got an error message
error 1324 program contains invalid character? What next?

I have tried to install the Microsoft Office System Beta 2 kit 2007 out of a
c-d.
The message I got was a bit different:
"Error 1324. The folder path 'My Documents' contains an invalid character"
How should I proceed?
