Installation problems with Office Professional 2003

Recently I have been trying to upgrade Office XP to Office
2003 from a network drive from my MSDN subscription. When
I am prompted with a dialog box to enter the Product Key,
the curser remains blinking in the first textbox for a
couple of seconds and the dialog box disappears.

Any ideas would be very helpful.

Any luck with this one? I just tried to install Office 2003 Pro here as
well and I have exactly the same issue as you have described.

Just for additional information my event log shows the following

So just for the giggle factor I went to a machine that Office 2003 Pro did
install fine on and checked. Sure enough there was a msi.dll there with a
differant time stamp on it. So I renamed the Msi.dll on my current machine
to msi.dll.bak and copied the other file over. I still get exactly the same
error trying to install tho so this exercize was futile.

By the way this happens when I try to install locally from the CD as well,
not just over the network.
