INSTALLATION SOURCE NOT AVAILABLE

When I try to correct or remove Office 2003 I receive the message "The
installation source for this product is not available". How do I correct this
problem?

Does this tool exist for the Office 2007 Beta product? I'm now experiencing
this problem with this software.

Hi R.D.U.,

No, the LISTool only functions correctly with Office 2003. For Office 2003 the Local Installation Source (LIS) was an optional
feature (\MSOCache). For Office 2007 the LIS is mandatory and is installed on the drive with the programs.

If 'this problem' is the 'can't locate installation source' error (1706) then you may want to try runing a Repair from the MS Office
2007 choice in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control panel to start.

Bob--

Repair from the Office 2007 CD or removal via A/R P did not for the very
reason that the installation source was not available.

I ended up thoroughly cleaning the registry, removing all MSOCache entries &
using WICU to finish things up.

I then successfully installed 2007 from the CD & B2TR from the download. I
still have a problem with MS Project not installing so a bit more cleaning to
do on it.
