Installation trouble

I purchased a new Dell laptop and cannot seem to install my Microsoft Office
Standard 2007 software. I have tried from the disk and by copying the file
on my desktop. I keep getting an error message that it cannot find the disk.
Any suggestions?

Not refering to 'Qualifying product' is it?
You uninstalled any trial version that was preinstalled, first?
