I buy Office 2008 and when I try to install, it says my computer is running a newer version and won't install. I don't have office, and not a newer version.

newer version and won't install. I don't have office, and not a newer version.

Check in both these places for Microsoft Office receipts.

1) /Library/Receipts (Remove all office2008...pkg receipts)

2) In the Finder toolbar under Go, paste in this path:
/private/var/db/receipts

Do you see any com.microsoft....plist files in this folder? If yes, remove
them.

Let me know what you find.
