Hello,
I bought a brand new Compaq 2.4 GHZ with 128+256 or RAM
and a 40GB hard drive. He then bought a new version of
Office XP Pro and tried to install. He gets all the way
through the registration page and the installer starts to
unpack the files then he gets errors. Not always the same
ones..but always referring to a .cab file that can't be
found. I've tried myself and on one occasion got
a 'cannot find sku111.cab' and no option to browse
myself. On another occasion there was another cab file
missing and I could browse but couldn't find it anywhere
on the CD. I tried using a different CDROM drive..no
change.
I had my friend bring it the installer package back to
Best Buy where he bought it and they were able to install
it on one of their display computers without any problem.
I went through microsoft's help page but it was no help at
all. Please help! and if possible reply directly to my
email as I don't alway get back to this board.
