Installer starts only when logging to domain

I have been using Office 2003 with no problems on a standalone PC for months.
I recently installed an Exchange domain, and now when I log onto the domain
and start any Office program, I get the Installer first.

When logged on to the domain as another user, I don't get the installer. I
don't have that user as a local user. The problem must be associated with
having a local profile and a domain or roaming profile.
