Installing Office 2003 Prof; FrontPage

David

I want to upgrade from Office XP Prof to Office 2003 Prof. Since Office XP
Prof has FrontPage and Office 2003 Prof doesn't, what would be the best set
of
procedures to install Office 2003 Prof and still keep FrontPage from Office
XP Prof? I don't
know if I should be uninstalling anything first or if I should just drop the
Office 2003 Pro CD in the drive and follow the instructions.

Any help would be appreciated! BTW, I also posted a message on the Office
Setup newgroup and received no responses. I hope this newsgroup can be
helpful.

Thanks!

David

When you install Office 2003 chose "Custom" and put it in a new directory
(like Office2003) so the files don't get mixed up. I'm running Office 2003
with FP 2000 just fine.

I have only a "G" drive (and not a C drive) on my hard drive. Can you be
more specific? I'd like to have Office 2003 replace each of the components
of Office XP, except for FP XP.

Thanks!

It will do that when you install it. Just choose to keep FrontPage. What I
meant was when you go to install it shows you a default directory it's going
to put it in. You can change that to anything you want.

The std default for MSO & FP 2003 is already C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11 vs. the prior versions in C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office10

Same for the common files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE11 vs. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\Office10

Generally dual versions of same MSO product (say 2 versions of FP) will usually "work",
But officially MS does support multiple versions of same MSO program on same PC
- problems can arise w/ changes in some of the .dlls in the Windows folder, object models, and the registry (last one installed
rules)
