Installing Office 2003

We have a situation where we are installing Office 2003
onto a PC that has Access 2002 installed. We have
created an MST so that we can automatically deploy the
installation.

What happens is that when we install Office 2003 onto the
PC with Access 2002 installed, the Office installation
updates Access 2002 to Access 2003, even though the MST
says not to install Access 2003.

Is this normal? Is there any way to prevent this?

No this shouldn't occur, the MST should ignore the previous version of
Access.
Could you provide details on the method you are using eg. GPO, SMS to
deploy Office 2003 along with the environment used?

Also are you using the latest Office 2003 Setup.exe (Enhanced Version) -
available from?
