Installing Office 2007 (Keeping previous versions at the same time

I have Office 97/2000 both installed on my lap top. The company that I
curently work for has all its reports in 2007 so I have downloaded an
upgrade, but before I install it, is there a procedure available to install
2007, but keep all the previous vesions on the lap top. I am currently
running Win XP Pro operating system when the 2007 is installed.

Install it and tell it not to upgrade/remove any previous versions.

You'll want to have your original disks and product keys for the previous
versions, just in case you need to re-install or repair something.

By the way, here are the products that qualify for an Office 2007 "upgrade"
version:

Ok, thanks.
The link indicated 2000 was ok, so I'm wondering why you posted the link.
Am I missing something?

Also one other small question to save me time. How/where does one
select/deselect auto save in Excel and Word?

I posted the link so that you, the purchaser, are absolutely sure that the
version you have qualifies for upgrade (you'd be surprised how often people
think they have something that does, and it doesn't.)

And...I'm not sure if you can have both versions installed if you purchased
an upgrade. Because an upgrade is technically a newer replacement for your
old version. That would be interesting to check out in the EULA, but I don't
know the answer to that.

Autosave In Office 2007, or in one of your earlier versions?

The autoreply would be in the 2007 version. I was using 2007 on my friends
lap top and every so often the software wold become non responsive, with an
hour glass icon, so I figured it was saving. We have been using a 97 version
of a spreadsheet and 2007 takes ssssssssssssooooooooo long to open, it was
decided to upgrade the spreadsheet to 2007. The reason for the 2007
purchase. In checking the email from MS, it does not indicate upgrade; all
it says is MS Office Professional 2007 with digital back-up service and
license key. Maybe I purchased the whole thing, I thought I just purchased
an upgrae, we'll see when I install it later on tonight.

In Word, go to the big round Office button (ORB), then select Word Options
(in the bottom right portion of the menu). You'll see an option on the left
for "Save", then you can mess with the settings there to see if it helps.

Basically the same deal with Excel.

Hope that helps--

Installed the upgrade with no problems keeping the previous versions,
currently installing the SP's.

I do have one more question if you would answer.
I have my taskbar "Group similar taskbar buttons" UNCHECKED. Using 97
version all of the instances of Excel would still be grouped under a window
feature inside the software. Is the "window" option gone from 2007, forcing
me to alter the taskbar selection?
