Installing Office 2007 over my Y2K version

I just purchased Office 2007 Professional. Should I uninstall my Office 2000
first? Or, can I just load my new Office right over the old one. I've heard
different views on this and want to do it right.
Thanks,
John

If I do won't it remember the settings? That way I don't have to back it up
"again" first? I also think that if I'm taking off outlook I might as well
take office 2000.

Thanks,

You need to read the archives for how to back up your emails. As for
uninstalling all of Office 2000, that's great (I would just overwrite it)
but you need to know that Word and Excel 2007 are completely different from
the older versions. You're going to need time to learn how to use it.
