Installing Office XP Pro 2002 on Vista Laptop

I just bought a Sony Vaio laptop running Vista. Is it legal for me to
install my copy of Office XP Pro 2002 on my laptop while still running it on
my PC? And will it work with the Vista OS?

It will work on Vista OS I am there right now. I understand there are
a few minor glitches, but I have not seen any myself.

Installing it legally depends on the license that your purchased. Some
(OEM) are for the original machine only and may not be added to a second
machine or even moved to a different machine. Others vary in what you may
do. I don't recall the procedure, but I believe you can see a copy of the
license via the help menu.

You would need to check the EULA on your Desktop version of Office

I understand that I can only have Office on one computer, can I use
add/remove programs to remove it from the first computer?

Yes, provided it is NOT an OEM version. OEM lives and dies with the PC
it came installed on.
