I do not like Office 2007 and have my old 2002. After I install, what else
do I have to download? Drivers, updates? Thanks for help

Office XP Small Business Edition is an OEM only edition of Office that
cannot be separated from the hardware on which it was initially installed.

Maybe I wasn't paying attention but I didn't see where anyone mentioned SBE.

You people are talking Greek to this old lady. Some say I can do this, some
say not. Can this be done or not?? That one guy says it can't be separated
from hardware. It was on another computer, so I guess I can't do this???
What is SBE? You know some of us are not really technical people. It sure
would be nice to get a sensible answer

Do you have the install CD and the Product Key? If you do, what does it say
on the CD? Without providing this information, you are not going to get a
useful answer. Mine says "Microsoft® Office XP Standard" and "Version 2002"
and I can definitely uninstall it from one computer and install it to
another one. If you have Small Business Edition as the lady said it may not
work. On the other hand in your place I would try it anyway. The lady who
mentioned Small Business Edition is apparently telepathic, because I don't
see where you mentioned having it. ;^)

Your question was "what else do I have to download?". You can either do
this through Windows Update, Microsoft Update or get the files from the
Microsoft Download Center. The Download Center is probably the fastest,
most efficient way to get these materials, but if you don't feel comfortable
using it then go to the Office web page after installing, click on the "Help
and How-to" tab, "Check for free updates" and finally "Office Update".

If you are running Microsoft Vista it is going to refer you to Microsoft
Update Service anyway.

If you share work with others you will sooner or later need to open Office
2007 format files. For this the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack is going to
be essential, whether it seems like Greek or not.

Damn! Still, I would try it.

I am sory that I don't have an answer for you and hope that when on comes
through, they will answer my question also. I purchased a new lap top
Toshiba that was loaded with Vista. I have a Compaq on my desk top that is
relatively new that also runs on Vista. When I bought the Compaq, the store
loaded the Microsoft Home Edition XP from my Dell that I was getting rid of.
I am trying to load xp to my new lap top with no luck. Need guidance
installing.

Do you mean Office XP? Because when people say just "XP" they usually mean
"Windows XP".
