Actually I recently moved my emails from my C: drive to my second hard drive
(not a separate partition). My emails aren't *terribly* critical. I also
have the "important" stuff backed up as of a month ago (it doesn't change
often) and the task I am currently working on is backed up every other day.
I use a CD-RW so that I can just overwrite it. I don't make so many changes
that I can't recreate a day or two's worth of work.

I also have all of my software together with the product keys within arms
reach. ;-)

And we also know that you have your computer properly backed up so that
when (not if) it crashes you will be able to recover those important

see thats the problem, i lost all my emails too because i was using vista,
and i had i was using outlook 2007, and since computer crashed i couldnt
retrieve my emails...
by the looks of this i dont you can recover them then... thats too bad

see thats the problem, i lost all my emails too because i was using vista,
and i had i was using outlook 2007, and since computer crashed i couldnt
retrieve my emails...
by the looks of this i dont you can recover them then... thats too bad

I am not always quite as diligent about that but recently I read a post
where someone was caught unaware. Let's just say that it lit that fire under
my butt. ;-)

I was sure you were covered. This was not meant to slight you in any way
since I have seen the good work you try to do on the sites you visit. Just
my way of reinforcing the need to backup files and systems so others can
read. Have a great day!

Actually I recently moved my emails from my C: drive to my second hard
drive (not a separate partition). My emails aren't *terribly* critical. I
also have the "important" stuff backed up as of a month ago (it doesn't
change often) and the task I am currently working on is backed up every
other day. I use a CD-RW so that I can just overwrite it. I don't make so
many changes that I can't recreate a day or two's worth of work.

I also have all of my software together with the product keys within arms
reach. ;-)

And we also know that you have your computer properly backed up so that
when (not if) it crashes you will be able to recover those important
emails. Good work JoAnn!

**ANY** time you decide to run beta software on your system, you have to be
prepared to lose data. There are no guarantees; that's why Microsoft says
that you should not be running the beta on a production system. Those
precautions are not given lightly - and should not be taken lightly either.
(That's why I'm not running any betas.)

If you chose to ignore that advice, then you should have been backing your
files up regularly. Especially anything that is critical to your work.

This is good advice even if you aren't running a beta. Backing up your files
should be as much a part of your "computing life" as keeping your
anti-virus/anti-spyware updated.
