Installing Outlook 97 (Ofc97) on Win95a

I just installed Office 97 on an old Pentium 90 laptop with Win95a.
Everything works except for Outlook. The error message is "Outlook cannot
start" or something to that effect. My guess is that some Windows components
it needs are not installed.

Here is a partial list of things in Windows 95 Setup that may be related to
Outlook. Which of these does Outlook need? Please tell me which items I need
to install if they are not already installed.

If I don't need VPN, I'd like to remove it, unless it's needed for the home
network or the shared DSL (NAT/DHCP router, no ICS). There is no domain or
server, only a workgroup of 9x/XP machines. It is peer-to-peer with
"broadcast" in winipcfg (9x)/ipconfig (XP). File & print sharing is enabled,
and there is a password on the 9x shares.

VBrunSP5, DCOM 1.3, DUN 1.4, Y2K and Winsock2 and other updates are
installed. No proprietary internet software is needed. My ISP does not
require it to connect. I don't even need a dialer to configure Outlook
Express for email unless the DSL connection goes down. My primary use for
Outlook 97 will be its calendar.

Since Outlook is not working, I removed it temporarily from my Office
installation through Office Setup in Add/Remove Programs. I can add it back
in after the needed Windows components have been installed. Let me know
which ones those are. Thanks.
