Installing Project 2003 on windows 2000 Advanced server

Sibi

According to Project server 2003 user manual, it is possble to install
project server 2003 on a windows 2000 server machine. I have setup a
2000 server to host the project server. While going thru the
installation manual says that windows share point services is required
for project server to run. On searching the web i find that WSS is
available only on windows 2003 server.

My doubts are

1) I have share point server 2001 . can i use this in place of WSS? IS
there any alternative?

2)Where can i find readme on how to install project server 2003 in
windows 2000 server?

3) Any suggestions

Pls note i dont have a windows 2003 license and cannot get one too due
to budget constraints. hence installing 2003 is out of question.

Thanks in advance

Sibi:

1) Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) requires Windows Server 2003
2) Project Server 2003 Requires Windows SharePoint Services and does not
integrate with STS (older SharePoint version) This means that the Microsoft
2003 EPM platform has a dependency on Windows Server 2003, not the Project
Server piece specifically.
3) To install Project Server 2003 on Windows Server 2000, follow the same
procedure for installing Project Server 2003 on Windows Server 2003.
4) Consider installing Project Server 2002 if you need the SharePoint stuff
and can live without the improvements in Project Server 2003.
5) If the SharePoint stuff isn't immediately important to you, deploy
Project Server 2003 without it now, and add a server with WSS later.
