Did you install IIS in Win XP Pro (Add Remove Components
Windows) and then install the FP SE
--no I had not, so have done that now, but still get
error message 2 opening registry key message. I have a
shaded box for those components now.

Set up the FP SE under IIS
Start - All Programs - Administrative Tools - IIS
Right click the Root web for All tasks and Extend the FP SE

I am still having difficulty despite your kind
assistance - I have downloaded the 2002 extensions and
now have the IIS showing without being shaded but still
get the same error message - I have gone to many sites
and been reading about this, but jeez feel like something
is just not getting through to me :( Thanks for any help
you can give.

Take a look at the steps in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN- US;300018

-- I have printed out and followed the directions for
installing the server extensions and that seems to be
fine. As for extending the server - on the page with the
list of virtual servers which on my computer is one -
there is no EXTEND link to click :( I did type in a name
for the user of the server and password.

any ideas on what next? Thank you for your patience.
